Sheetal Shaw is an American (b. India) visual artist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Delhi in 1994 and immigrated to the United States with her husband a few years later. A relocation to Arizona in 2007 sparked her passion for studying and creating art and after graduating with a BFA in Ceramics she began working from her home studio in Arizona.
Shaw’s work draws inspiration from applied arts, social psychology, and geography, encouraging her to explore themes of hope, love, survival, and resilience. Working with a diverse range of materials, Sheetal has presented her artwork—including ceramics, sculptures, and paintings—at numerous fairs and exhibitions across the U.S. and Japan.
In addition to her creative work, she is passionate about cooking, traveling, and lifelong learning.
“Our path in life is showered with experiences–fortunate or unfortunate and joyous or sorrowful. My art serves as a response to those experiences.”
“Art is my vehicle for personal renewal. Through art I have experienced myself and others on a much deeper level; this has created an indelible mark on my psyche and continues to shape me every day.”
